Its name being derived from use on automobile fenders, a fender washer is flat washer with a particularly large outer diameter in proportion to its central hole. They are ideal for spreading the load on thin sheet metal. The zinc-coated option provides mild corrosion resistance while the stainless steel versions have excellent corrosion resistance and may be mildly magnetic.
